Listen to a documentary about "Yiddish Melodies in Swing," WHN's flagship Jewish program.

"It Happened This Week," a reenactment of the week's news from January 19, 1941.

The program, which aired as part of the "American Jewish Hour" on New York's WHN, dramatized quirky stories from the week's news. In this episode: Mayor LaGuardia publishes instructions on what to do in case of aerial bombardment; Bella Futterman, of 1450 Longfellow Avenue in the Bronx, celebrates a new lease on life; and French butchers rebel against their Nazi occupiers.
